Recommended literature

The literature recommended in SIS is the following:
[1] Rudin, W.: Functional analysis. Second edition, McGraw-Hill, Inc., New York, 1991
[2] Meise R. and Vogt D. : Introduction to functional analysis, Oxford University Press, New York, 1997
[3] Jarchow H. : Locally convex spaces, B. G. Teubner, Stuttgart, 1981

More precisely:

The first topic - unbounded operators - is inspired mainly by the Chapter 13 of [1] and by the Chapters 19-21 of [2]. The correspondence is not exact, moreover, the approaches in the two books differ in several points.

The second topic - locally convex topologies - is more than covered by the monograph [3].
More precisely: Section XI.1 is essentially covered by [3, Sections 8.4 and 8.5], Section XI.2 is a special case of results from [3, Sections 9.3-9.5], Section XI.3 is contained in [3, Section 7.5], Section XI.4 is related to [3, Section 9.8].

The approach in the named monograph is much more astract. A more suitable monograph is G.Köthe: Topological vector spaces I, Springer-Verlag 1969, namely paragraphs 21, 24 and 25. However, also these paragraphs contain more results in a more general context than the course.
