* Browse loads of tickets while rafting with [Kayak], one of the best search engine for low fares. Flexible, customizable, comprehensive.

* Book a flight from the US to beautiful Europe:   [FlyEurope]  [Travelocity]  [CheapFlights]    [Priceline]   [Orbitz]    [Lastminute]    [Edreams]

* Low Cost within Europe:  (remember: only 15/20kg checked luggage and only point-to-point, no food, no frills, just fly...)

Western Europe:       [RyanAir]   [EasyJet]  [Transavia]  [BmiBaby] [Jet2com]
based in Germany:    [Hapag-Lloyd]  [GermanWings]  [AirBerlin]  [DBA]
based in Italy:           [VolareWeb]   [WindJet]  [MyAir]  regional:  [Blu-express]  [AlpiEagles]  [AirA!ps]
Eastern Europe:       [SmartWings] and the new [SkyEurope] , HIGHLY recommended!

* Low Cost in the US: more flexible than European ones, not necessarily cheaper than major airlines though:

[Spirit]  based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, serves the East Coast, the Caribbean's, plus Los Angeles and Las Vegas. VERY Cheap.
[JetBlue] based in Boston and NY, mostly East Coast + California and Puerto Rico, excellent service, brand new aircrafts!
[AirTran] based in Atlanta, mostly East Coast and Central + Frisko, LAX and Vegas. Cheap but poor service, noisy aircrafts.

* Favorite Airlines: EU: [Lufthansa]  Italy: [AirDolomiti]  US:  [United]   GB: [Bmi]  Greece: [Aegean] CZ: [SkyEurope]

** Airlines I would NOT recommend, since I was not satisfied when I flew with them:

[AerLingus] --> low cost service at a high cost price, I had multiple troubles with them, ask me!
[American]  --> sometimes the only choice, they are usually on time but on board friendliness is poor
[AirFrance] --> not on time and often lost bags. I mean, LOST! Nothing personal against the French, bien sur...
[Alitalia]      --> really, there is no way to describe the horror of our national airline...unless you find some good deal!
