2nd Prague Topological Symposium

(August 30 - September 4, 1966)

Second Symposium on General Topology and its Relations to Modern Analysis and Algebra


was organized by Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Association of Czechoslovak Mathematicians and Physicists.

The Symposium was attended by 131 participants from 16 countries, including 41 from Czechoslovakia.
The scientific program of the Symposium consisted of 11 invited addresses in plenary sessions and 78 contributed papers into parallel sessions and covered the following fields of general topology:
topological spaces
topology of Euclidean spaces (geometric topology)
theory of uniform and proximity spaces and of various more general structures
dimension theory
applications to algebra and functional analysis
etc.
Most of the invited addresses and contributed papers, including a few papers presented in written only, were published in General Topology and its Relations to Modern Analysis and Algebra II, Proceedings of the Second Prague Topological Symposium 1966 (Academia Prague, 1967).
