6th Prague Topological Symposium

(August 25 - 29, 1986)

Sixth Symposium on General Topology and its Relations to Modern Analysis and Algebra

was organized by Mathematical Institute of Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in cooperation with:
Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University,
Faculty of Civil Engineering and Faculty of Nuclear Science and Physical Engineering of Technical University of Prague,
Faculty of Natural Sciences of Purkyně University,
Institute of Mathematics of Slovak Academy of Sciences,
Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Comenius University and
Association of Czechoslovak Mathematicians and Physicists.

The Symposium was attended by 220 mathematicians from 29 countries.

The program of the Symposium was prepared by the Program Committee composed of Z. Frolík (chairman), M. Hušek (vice-chairman), B. Balcar and J. Pelant (members). The program consisted of 35 lectures invited by the organizing committee and 132 contributed papers presented in three or four parallel sections.

62 papers (invited or contributed) together with 74 abstracts were published in General Topology and its Relations to Modern Analysis and Algebra VI, Proceedings of the Sixth Prague Topological Symposium 1986 (Heldermann Verlag 1988).
