The workshop "Challenges in analysis and modelling" is organized by the Mathematical Institute of Charles University, Department of Mathematical Modelling on the occasion of awarding Professor K. R. Rajagopal "Doctor Honoris Causa" by the Charles University in Prague. The aim of the workshop is to present recent open and challenging topics in the field of modelling of complex materials and processes from the perspectives of both mathematical and numerical analysis, modelling and computation. Lectures will be given by professor Rajagopal's collaborators and colleagues within the Czech and Charles university scientific community.
The workshop will take place in the building of Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (room K1), Sokolovská 83, Prague on Saturday, March 31, 2012, detailed programme can be found here.
Professor Rajagopal will give lecture A thermodynamical framework for chemically reacting systems at 15:40 on Monday, April 2, 2012 in Nečas Seminar on Continuum Mechanics. (The seminar will take place in the building of Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (room K1), Sokolovská 83, Prague.)
The ceremony of awarding the honourable academic title "Doctor honoris causa" will take place in the seat of the Charles University in Prague, Karolinum, Velká aula, Ovocný trh 3, Prague on April 4, 2012 at 14:00. All are welcome.
