Mathematical Logic and Applications
A PhD position in Prague
to start October 1, 2010 can funded via a EU
network "Mathematical Logic and Applications":
MALOA.
The project is well-funded: essentially all expenses
related to the PhD study are being payed from the
EU funds for the duration of three years.
Potential applicants should check the
MALOA web page
for details of the application procedure and eligibility criteria.
Charles University
in Prague is one of several universities taking
part in the network. The participating professors in Prague are
Petr Hajek,
Tomas Jech, Jan Krajicek,
Antonin Kucera,
Pavel Pudlak,
Petr Stepanek,
Vitezslav Svejdar,
Jan Trlifaj
and
Jindrich Zapletal.
The potential PhD student has to be admitted for the PhD
study by the CU. See
the details of the admission procedure.
In particular, CU has an early deadline for applications:
for students wishing to start in
October 2010 the deadline will be April 30, 2010.
At the time of the
application it is important to have a consent from a potential
thesis advisor.
Because of this early CU deadline the deadline for
application for the MALOA position to be taken up
at the CU with any of the above professors
will be earlier than the general MALOA call.
The deadline is:
28.February 2010.
After this date all
applications will be reviewed and the top candidate will be invited
to apply to the CU PhD program
(for good candidates this is not a difficult
process).
